Department of Communication graduate students Frank Waddell and Rommelyn Conde discussed research they conducted as laboratory associates in the G.A.M.E.R. Lab in a presentation given as part of the lab's Spring 2011 Video Game Research Lunchtime Colloquium Series.  Their research, a content analysis of the sex and race of virtual world characters produced from two dozen hours of recorded content from popular commercial virtual world games, was co-authored with Courtney Long and Rachel McDonnell, two more graduate students in the department who were unable to attend the presentation due to other commitments.  A manuscript describing the results of the study is in preparation for conference and journal submission.
