Virginia Tech Gaming and Media Effects Research Laboratory Director James D. Ivory discussed new and enduring questions about video games and society in a teleconference presentation given October 26 at a session of the European Communication Research and Education Association's annual European Communication Conference in Istanbul, Turkey.  Dr. Ivory's presentation, titled, "Are We Studying What They’re Playing? (And Other Questions about Social Research on Video Games)," was part of a panel sponsored by ECREA's Digital Games Temporary Working Group and focused on "Researching Digital Games: Current Topics and Future Challenges."  Other panelists included Mia Consalvo of Concordia University, Christopher Ferguson of Texas A & M International University, Jeroen Jansz of Erasmus University Rotterdam, and Frans Mäyrä of the University of Tampere.
